Elmo Studios West 10th Street Playhouse

About

Elmo Studios is a New York-based, full service Architecture and Interiors studio. Driven by design, the studio works closely with myriad clients, distilling a project’s problems—programmatic needs, site limitations, historical and social context, lifestyle quirks, brand ethos, budget—to create a shared conceptual framework. This thesis becomes a guide for decision-making such that large and small design gestures cohere around this foundational set of precepts. The resulting spaces are authentic to each client, born from the project’s unique parameters.

Elmo Studios was founded by Danielle Schwartz and Guillermo Castello. Before founding the studio, Schwartz worked on a wide range of projects at distinguished international firms, including Kelly Wearstler, Ike Kligerman Barkley, Snarkitecture, Bureau Betak, and Diller Scofidio + Renfro. She holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Architecture from Yale University. Castello similarly worked across cultural, civic, and residential projects at leading international firms, including HOK in Toronto and Enric Soria Arquitectes in Barcelona. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from McGill University and a Master of Architecture from Yale University.
